
Garegin Pasdermadjian, also known as Armen Garo, was a prominent Armenian political figure and diplomat. Born in 1872 in Erzurum, then part of the Ottoman Empire, he was a key member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF). Pasdermadjian played a significant role in the Armenian national liberation movement, particularly during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He was actively involved in the defense of Armenian communities during the Armenian Genocide. After World War I, he served as the first ambassador of the First Republic of Armenia to the United States. Pasdermadjian was also a prolific writer, contributing to the Armenian cause through his publications. He passed away in 1923 in Geneva, Switzerland. His legacy is remembered for his dedication to the Armenian national movement and his efforts to garner international support for Armenia.
